The term “HP Savannah” used in breeding is mainly focused on the F1, F2 (and HP F3) Generations. A Breeder may consider their Savannah cat a “HP” and sell their offspring as “HP” even if it doesn’t follow the actual standard meaning we are trying to achieve behind the “HP” (or “Elite”) Savannah terminology we, ethical breeders, would like it to refer to. It doesn’t mean they are wrong, it is just not what we are trying to achieve in the term “HP Savannah Cats”.

Savannah Cats, although very large in size in comparison to a domestic cat, are an incredible hybrid breed with the temperament and demeanor similar to a domestic house cat. They are incredibly elegant and intelligent and affectionate. Savannah Cats can easily learn commands like ‘sit’ and ‘shake’ and are able to be walked on a leash!
The F2 Savannah is the product of a F1 Savannah mother (“Queen”) and a savannah Father (“Stud” or “sire”.) The F2 Savannah is one of the most desirable generations of Savannah cats. With the F2, you have the large, tall size and the beautiful exotic look with less maintenance of the f1. The F2 Savannah will range from 25% – 45% wild blood. F2 Savannah’s are very social with their immediate family, including children and other pets. As kittens we play, pet, hold and interact with all of the kittens and they are usually very attracted to human affection. You will expect a lot of head butts and love from your F2. F2’s love being pet and played with, they will chase their favorite toys and bring it back to you in a fun game of fetch.
